3:00-5:00pm Tour of the WOW Grapes (Gardens Alive) Vineyards, formerly Ervin Lineberger’s Killdeer Farm, the WOW!® Grapes vineyard has been a fixture of the local landscape for over 40 years. A pruning workshop led by Jeff Bloodworth, Owner and Grape Breeder Specialist is scheduled  Located at 300 Goforth Rd. Kings Mountain, NC 28086. 

6:00 pm – Dutch Treat Dinner at Bistro 214. 214 S Lafayette St  Suite A, Shelby, NC 28150 ( 11.3 miles)  Deepen the discussion! Large menu and reasonable prices. Please indicate on your registration form if you plan to attend.

Saturday, March 16

9:00 am – 4:00 pm (Registration, refreshments and visit with exhibitors 8:00-9:00 am.)  At the Cleveland County NC Farm Bureau, 1503 W Dixon Blvd, Shelby, NC 28152.  Includes educational sessions, exhibits, and the NC Muscadine Grape Association Annual Meeting. Lunch and other refreshments are included in all registrations.

  • Updates on medicinal advancements with the muscadine grape-Anna Clara Melo
  • Extension of muscadine shelf life to eight weeks using Janny bins– Penny Perkins -Veazie
  • Seedless grape production – Phillip Rollins, Small Fruit Specialist
  • Soil enhancements in the vineyard– Steve Dillon, Regional Agronomist
  • Updates on the Spotted Lantern Fly- Joy Goforth
  • Small Vineyard Economics- Chuck Blethen
  • Updates from Union Grove Farm- Martin Crompton
  • Presentation from NC Wine Council- Chuck Johnson
  • Introduction of new Viticulturist Specialist at NCSU-  Mark Hoffman

You can join with registration and receive member rates. Note that membership is per family/vineyard/company (extension/student membership is individual). Registration is per-person. Membership fee for the NC Muscadine Grape Association is $50 (individuals, wineries, vineyards), $25 (students/extension), and $150 (Suppliers, marketers, other businesses)
Additional $10/person after March 10th.

The  WOW Grapes (Gardens Alive) Vineyards is at 300 Goforth Rd, Kings Mountain, NC 28086   

The Cleveland County NC Farm Bureau is at 1503 W Dixon Blvd, Shelby, NC 28152.. There is plenty of free parking.
